Have you ever been to Savannah, GA? It’s a very pretty city and if you find yourself on River St, check out River House Savannah and ask for Chatham’s Artillery Punch. The story goes, Chatham was an officer in General George Washington’s army and he made this drink for Washington. Apparently, old George was a fan. It’s an easy tasting drink with a lot of liquor (think Long Island Ice Tea, southern version).
If Savannah is not in your near future that’s ok because Thanksgiving is!! Make Chatham’s Artillery Punch for your Thanksgiving guests! It’s sure to be a hit! Here’s the recipe as provided by River House Savannah:
When I first made this drink for guests, I didn’t know where to find some of the alcohol. That’s ok. Go to your local liquor store with a list and ask. Liquor store workers tend to be helpful and they will help pull everything for you! You can also halve the recipe which is what I did as well.
This is the type of drink to put in a cute drink dispenser. I like this one from Amazon.
You’ll want to make sure you have a ride home on this one folks. I guarantee your Thanksgiving will be a lot more tolerable if you have family drama. Cheers!!
