BJ’s

BJ’s has joined the fun with a few good tool prices.

2 piece, 6 drawer tool cabinet for $89.99. This is the cheapest I found for a similar product.

A 2 gallon air compressor, hose, and nail gun for $99.99. What a steal, this is a perfect gift for your DIY partner!

Cosco reach 17′ ladder – $99.99. This is basically a off name brand Little Giant. This is the price I’ve seen these ladders on Black Friday for years, which when considering inflation thats a good deal.

Sears

Yes, Sears is still a store.

Craftsman 13 drawer 3 piece tool chest – $349.64. For a homeowner, this is a great deal. Harbor Freight has tool cabinets on sale for $399.99 on Black Friday, but this 3 piece set is taller and more conducive to a home owner wanting to organize tools.

Craftsman 1/2hp garage door opener $99.99. This typical retails for $149.99. The Chamberlain brand retails for $169.99 at Home Depot, so this is a great price. It has good reviews on Lowes.com as well.

Hand tools – Sears is also having a good sale on hand tools. If you occasional need something or looking for gifts for that special someone, these tools are a good buy. A lot of these tools are live now so you don’t have to wait until Black Friday to buy them!

Sears has a 300 piece Craftsman drill bit and accessory kit for $29.99. That a lot of tools for $30.

Costco

Costco is giving $300 and $400 off large workbench and storage units. These are the type of units that will fill a wall in your garage. Compared to whats available at other big box stores, these prices are excellent. I know people that have bought similar items from Costco and were excited about the quality.

173 piece Dewalt tool set for $80. A comparable set on Amazon is on sale for $128.92, so this is a great deal.

SafeRacks 4′ x 8′ overhead garage rack $159.99. This is another excellent price; however, Amazon currently has a 2 pack for $300 which is outstanding. SafeRacks have high reviews and are a product I will be purchasing.

Harbor Freight

At first glance the deals look worse than in 2018. I went to Harbor Freight last year to buy cable ties, wall hanging brackets, a welding cart, a $4 socket set, and other miscellaneous tools. The hang out brackets are listed at $0.99 this year, but I remember using a coupon to buy them for $0.69 last year.

Franklin ladder – $98.99 – The 2018/2019 Black Friday ads are the same price. Overall this is a good price considering using the standard 20% coupon right now would yield a $111.99 price tag.

Central Pneumatic Air Compressor 21 Gallon – $159.99 – The price was $144.99 in 2018. The current price tag is $189.99, so the price is good, just not as good as last year.

The 125 Flux welder is $2 more in 2019 than 2018, listed at $89.99.

The Chicago Electric Double Bevel Miter Saw is listed $10 higher this year at $139.99

The 3500 Watt Predator Generator is also $10 higher from last year at $689.99.

The Warrior lithium ion power drill is listed for $22 (originally $37). This is a great price for an extra drill or as a gift for a new home owner learning the ropes on working on a house.

Several other items appear to be the same price as last year. Overall the ad doesn’t excite me to go buy things the way it did last year. If your looking for an item not covered by the standard 20% off coupon than you will enjoy the sale. Last year I went due to the coupons I had, which was probably a regional newspaper item. Nothing truly stands out other than the sale on tarps, Harbor Freight has great tarps for the best prices.

True Value

No tools stand out being a good price, as Home Depot and Amazon will have better prices assured.

The Dimplex electric heater for $134.99 with mantel does stand out as a great deal. Currently, the best price I can find for this unit is on Build.com for $274.99. Dimplex is the industry leader in electric fireplaces, and based on prices for used units on Craigslist, this appears to be a good buy. At that price point, I feel like you can’t go wrong if your looking for a little extra heat. Unless something better pops up, I will be purchasing this for my basement.
