12 Days of Christmas: DIY Christmas Tree Ornaments for Kids

Christmas is the best time of year, especially for kids. Happy music being played everywhere you go, lights and decorations make every view picturesque, and the fun of decorating a Christmas tree. When I was younger, I had great teachers who taught us how to make easy DIY Christmas Tree Ornaments for kids. Since my mom is a hoarder, I still have those ornaments, I will show you how to make them!

Felt Mouse Candy Cane ornament

Step 1

Get green and red felt from Michael’s, super super super cheap.

Cut out the shape of the mouse (tear drop shape) and the ears.

Step 2

Cut out the slit for the candy cane and the 2 slits for the ears.

Step 3

Assemble and glue on 2 goggly eyes.

Step 4

Insert real or fake candy cane.

Felt Bell

This bell is self explanatory. Cut out 2 bells from red felt, stuff with 3 cotton balls and glue together. Don’t forget to glue in the green strap to hang on the tree. You can easily decorate the bells with glitter glue and some green holly.

Popsicle Stick Snowman

Have an extra tongue depressor? Paint them white, glue some decorated strip as a hook, cut out black felt for the top hat and some red ribbon for the scarf. We used a black sharpee for the face and buttons, and an orange sharpie for the carrot nose.

Hopefully these three easy DIY Christmas Tree ornaments will bring your family joy this year!
