12 Days of Christmas: Make a Calming Glitter Jar for Kids

Who doesn’t love watching the effects of a snow globe?! This is an easy and great alternative, a calming glitter jar for kids!

Supplies:

  • Sealable container (if you are making this for or with kids a plastic option is best). I used a mason jar, but that’s because I’m not a kid!
  • Glitter – I recommend getting your child’s favorite color
  • Glitter glue – again, your child’s favorite color
  • Water

Directions:

  1. Clear a space and put down some newspaper to catch any stray glitter.
  2. Use a measuring cup to figure out how much water will fill your bottle to ¾ full. Use that measurement to fill your bottle with warm water.
  3. Add one to two tablespoons of glitter glue for every one cup of water.
  4. Add the glitter until it accumulates to a ½- to ¾-inch at the bottom of the jar.
  5. Close the bottle and seal it with glue.
  6. Shakey Shakey, baby!!

Mine turned out to look like a snowstorm because I used white and black glitter. I recommend using your child’s favorite color.

Enjoy the quiet while your child is mesmerized by this calming glitter jar for kids!!
