Holiday mantle decorations just ooze Christmas spirit. If you have a mantle or any other flat surface, here are tips on how to decorate a mantle!
First of all, Joann Fabrics has a huge sale right now on Christmas items. 70% off which is more than Michael’s and A.C. Moore (who, by the way, are going out of business). So get to Joann’s for the deals!
If you read my Michael’s Black Friday post, you know I’m into the all white Christmas this year, which is the theme I chose for the mantle.
The Process
Start out by buying a bunch of stuff matching your theme, pull from what you already have in stock or do a combination. Clean your mantle, put on the Christmas tunes and now you are ready to begin!
Start by adding your bigger items, which for me was my flocked greenery. Then add in the accent pieces to each side, like extra pine cones, flocked branches, wooden circles and pearls.
Next, I used battery operated LED string lights that I had in stock and wove them in and out of the branches. Here are similar lights. Then I used one long piece of my black and white checked ribbon to weave in and out of the branches all the way across the mantle.
To cap off the ends, I used two white wooden candle holders, similar, and two white candles from the dollar store. Also from the dollar store is a framed clothespin picture holder. I used this to display our first couple of Christmas cards.
And, that’s it!!
